Xiaomi, a Chinese manufacturer has officially entered the Indian market with the launch of a new smartphone “Mi3”. The smartphone will be available for order from July 15 onwards. There is a rumor going on that Mi3 will be available exclusively available via FlipKart.
The all new Mi3 sports a 5-inch full HD display, 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 13 MP rear camera with a dual-LED flash and a Sony BSI sensor 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage space. Xiaomi Mi 3 will run on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean).
Other features included a 2MP camera in front for selfie and video calling, 3,050mAh battery and a miniSIM slot. Xiaomi claims that Mi3 smartphone can deliver talk time up to 21 hours on 3G networks. But there is no microSD card slot attached to the smartphone. The weighs of the smartphone is just 145gram and thickness is 8.1mm.
Apart from the smartphone, Xioami also planning to launch two Power Banks – a 5,200mAh and a 10,400mAh model. Pricing of the two power banks have not been revealed yet.
Xiaomi, often called the ‘Apple’ of China, will compete with Samsung, Sony, Mcromax, Karbonn, Lava etc. Xiaomi does not have retail outlets and sell all its gadgets through online stores.In China, Xiaomi was the third-biggest smartphone manufacturer in China, in the first quarter of 2014 and was ahead of Huawei, Apple, Sony etc.
